Three Ways You Can Use Rental Trucks To Make Money

There are a variety of small- and medium-size trucks that are available for rent that you can take advantage of to make money. These types of trucks are often associated with local residential moves. Small businesses often use them to move locally from one office or facility to another. But as an entrepreneur, you can use these trucks to make money. The following are three ideas to think about.

Storage auctions

When people do not pay the rent they owe for a storage unit, the ownership of the facility will, at some point, place the contents of the unit up for auction. No one knows exactly what is inside the unit because the locks are not cut off until minutes before the auction. There are great opportunities to buy valuable items at a low price. The problem is transportation. If you win an auction, you usually have 24 hours to remove everything that's inside. People who profit from storage auctions usually have trucks, but you can take advantage of a rental truck to make money like large resellers do.

Liquidation auctions

There are many reasons people use liquidators to sell. One example is a bankruptcy court liquidating the assets of a failed company. There is usually less risk involved in a liquidation auction because you know what you are bidding on. However, the big problem is transportation of a large amount of goods that you have just made a winning bid for. Even a pickup truck is often insufficient for a couple of pallets of merchandise. However, just as with a storage auction, a rental truck is available in various sizes, so you can get exactly what you need to transport your newly acquired goods to your storage area.

Selling at a local outdoor swap meet

With a car, SUV or pickup truck, you are limited by the amount of merchandise you can sell at this type of venue. However, with a larger truck, such as those used for local moving, you can rent more space and bring a lot more merchandise to sell. Many of these trucks have hydraulic lifts, so you can easily load and unload heavier items you wish to sell. Items that you purchased at a storage or liquidation auction may be ideal to sell at a swap meet or flea market type setting.

Having a large truck for transportation can mean many opportunities to make money, but you don't have to buy one. There is likely an entire fleet of them near you available to rent. Just like when a person is moving, theses trucks can be rented for a single day. Contact a company like Elite Truck Rental to learn more about your rental options.
